My name is Eric Carrington, I attended MNTD18. I had been invited to attend 3 or 4 times before and things came up every time so I could not make it, this time was no different on Thursday morning I woke up with a tooth ache, I scheduled a dentist appointment for that afternoon, they told me that I needed a root canal and a crown. I decided that I would rather go to Tres Dias than have a root canal! (No, not really, I figured Satan was trying to keep me from going again so I was going anyway!)
Well on Friday I was not doing too good with the pain of the tooth, if I would have had my car I would have left, so I filled out a prayer request and the prayer teams prayed for me and by Friday afternoon the tooth ache left and did not return. I had the root canal done a few months later but the tooth did not bother me the whole time.
The weekend was a thousand times better than I expected, I did not know really what to expect, I thought we would sit around with a bunch of guys I did not know and study the Bible and talk about our lives with a bunch of strangers, which I really was not that keen on doing. Boy was I wrong! What I found was guys that had the same doubts, troubles, problems, and things I have had, the speakers all talked about relevant things in my life, there wasn’t a boring time the whole weekend.
I turn 60 this next year, at the chapel service Saturday night I left things on the cross that I have carried for nigh on 55 to sixty years.
What MTD #18 was for me was a new beginning; God gave me another chance on living, on life.
